Poems and Prose #75 - Levity

Here we are, you and I,
giggling as we slowly die.

When the twinkle flees your eyes,
and I hear your final sigh,
I find my laughs more like asides,
referencing something the sound elides.

My mouth now wide,
my final HA tried,
I lie back
and let the audience decide.
