Poems and Prose #159 - Edged

Floating in
a gooey slop,
I wildly flail.

Past the surface,
I see silhouettes
converging,
until the light
dims to blackness.

My heart hastens
as I drift
in some direction
I can't ascertain,
my arms akimbo
in a gesture
of obscenity.

Poems and Prose #158 - Horizon

Marching towards
a rigid slab,
I reread the list
of things I have.

Now I kneel,
my journey halved,
crumpling the paper
I'd hastily grabbed.
