An hour creeps past.
I can't help but keep checking.
I should sweep the floor.

Poems and Prose #161 - Sequence
I walk to the edge
of the room and turn,
reassessing the scant
few things I've learned.
Now I lean,
my next steps discerned,
and I walk to the edge
of the room and turn.
of the room and turn,
reassessing the scant
few things I've learned.
Now I lean,
my next steps discerned,
and I walk to the edge
of the room and turn.

Poems and Prose #160 - Gobi
The desert wind
slaps my face,
as hot sand granules
sting me like mace.
Standing in this
alien place,
I glance at my footprints
as they're slowly erased.
Now I kneel down
into the sun's grim embrace,
and start digging a hole
for myself, just in case.
slaps my face,
as hot sand granules
sting me like mace.
Standing in this
alien place,
I glance at my footprints
as they're slowly erased.
Now I kneel down
into the sun's grim embrace,
and start digging a hole
for myself, just in case.

Poems and Prose #159 - Edged
Floating in
a gooey slop,
I wildly flail.
Past the surface,
I see silhouettes
converging,
until the light
dims to blackness.
My heart hastens
as I drift
in some direction
I can't ascertain,
my arms akimbo
in a gesture
of obscenity.
a gooey slop,
I wildly flail.
Past the surface,
I see silhouettes
converging,
until the light
dims to blackness.
My heart hastens
as I drift
in some direction
I can't ascertain,
my arms akimbo
in a gesture
of obscenity.

Poems and Prose #158 - Horizon
Marching towards
a rigid slab,
I reread the list
of things I have.
Now I kneel,
my journey halved,
crumpling the paper
I'd hastily grabbed.
a rigid slab,
I reread the list
of things I have.
Now I kneel,
my journey halved,
crumpling the paper
I'd hastily grabbed.
