Poems and Prose #155 - Embossed

In replication,
the mimicked item
seems resolute,
standing apart,
though still
quite in cahoots.

Being facsimiles,
we can't
be so aloof,
nor can we
rely upon
plans so astute.

So let us stand,
arms linked,
with stern couth,
while the genuine
article grows
long in the tooth.
